Peter Larsen Kaffe has together with the COWI Foundation investigated in how Blockchain technology can contribute to a sustainable change. With the technology, they have created a network of the people who take part in the coffee’s journey from sprout to cup. This allows all involved to easily exchange data about the coffee, which makes both the process more efficient and transparent.

The craftsmanship of the farmers and roasters is no longer lost on the way, and you know the exact origin and home address of the coffee. More specifically you know that this coffee is grown and harvested by a coffee farmer called Alonso Gonzales and five other local farmers in Columbia - and you know exactly what you are drinking: A cup of coffee from Alonso’s field.

Quality is of great importance to Alonso, and also that consumers around the world know who “the old man Alonso is.”
